What is 3-D and 4-D Ultrasound?

Ultrasound can be 2 dimensional, 3 dimensional or 4 dimensional.

3-D ultrasound uses multiple images from different angles, combining them together to create a 3 dimensional image of fetus that can show various features like facial structure, placenta, umbilical chord and many other features.

4-D ultrasound goes a step ahead by recording the entire event and playing it back, to provide what appears like a moving audio-video clip.

All ultrasound methods are primarily for diagnostic purpose however they are also used by parents these days for bonding with the fetus.

At Mediscape Imaging and Healthcare Centre, we provide 2-D, 3-D and 4-D ultrasound among various other facilities.
